Illuminated leaf on parchment once belonging in an antiphonary, probably France, 14th century.

Dimensions: mm. 440 x 310 approx; text panel size: mm. 298 x 198 ca. Text in Gothic script on single column of 11 lines, written in black ink. Liturgical codex with set text: neumatic notation on tetragrammaton in red.

The decoration includes a large polychrome 'M' capital letter with geometric decorations, as well as other smaller capitals in red or blue contrasting penwork.

Fair condition, despite some abrasions and holes due to ink acidity.

The text refers to the liturgy for the beheading of St. John the Baptist.
