30) Russian Orthodox Liturgical Calendar

Complete manuscript on paper in Russian language (Russian Cyrillic

script in its form prior to the 1918 orthographic reform), made up by

175 leaves and coming from Russia, end of 18th or beginning of 19th

century.

Average leaf dimensions: 82 x 52 mm. (3, 22 x 2, 04 in.), whereas the

writing space roughly measures 60 x 30 mm. (2, 36 x 1, 18 in.). The

text is written in black and red ink on a single 13-line column.

Its decoration set includes a little ornament on top of the first

page; the binding is most probably of the same age as that of the

manuscript. Blind stamped decoration motif.

The state of preservation is excellent, except for some traces of

use. It is an interesting little manuscript containing the description

of the Saints of the day, and of the liturgical feasts of the Russian

Orthodox Church's rites and rituals.
