574 CANTEPIE'S FAMILY SEAL
Cantepie's family seal, probably Normandy, France, XIV century.
Round bronze matrix (20mm. ).
In the centre three magpies on a shield, two large the third smallest.
The name Cantepie probably derives from the union of the phrase " chant de pies"
The shield surrounded by a lobed frame.
Hexagonal shape terminating in a lobe perforated with triangular shape.
On the back of the matrix a star indicates the upper part of the seal for the correct use.
