Complete illuminated Arabic manuscript on paper, north India,

probably Lahore, XVIII century; signed by Muhammad Bin Mihr'Ali.

Leaf dimensions 185 x 120 mm, writing space 131 x 70 mm.

Text in nas? calligraphy and black ink on a 11-line single column.

Composed by 444 leaves.


The decoration set includes a double-page illuminated headpiece

(unwan) in gold and colours. The writing space is bordered by a

triple line in gold, blue and black ink. Sura's titles are in red ink; the

verses (Ayat) are separated by gold dots. Leather binding with

blind stamped and gold decorations.

Light traces of use and some restored leaves but still preserved in overall good conditions.
